Lowered my FXT today, I'm making good progress so far with this car! 2007 STI springs, KYB's for an 04-07 WRX wagon.
The ride is vastly improved performance wise, almost no body roll compared to before. I also went and gave it about -1.5 degrees of camber in the front which helped a bit too.
The comfort has gone down slightly, but not much. The ride is significantly stiffer but I also installed springs that are way stiffer so there's the explanation for that.
Overall impression, I love it. Looks great, handles great, not too stiff, and it was cheap! Less than 300 bucks for brand new struts, and springs with under 20k on them.

Dayum son your Forester is the shit.

That looks so damn good! Where the hell did you get struts and springs for less than 300?? Am I reading that right?

300 bucks, actually a little less. Found the KYB's brand new for a WRX wagon on sale and scooped them up at about 48 bucks a strut and a local with an 07 STI sold me his springs for 100 bucks!

Thank you man! Can't wait to get wider wheels. I need 245/45's or 255/40's. No stretching on this build...

Goddamn this pictures just bring out the sex in this car. Keep doing what you're doing. I'm usually not a fan of badging cars that shouldn't be badged but STi badges might look sick on this car. Are you going to do that? Either way the finished product is sure to be stunning.

Duuuuuude nice finds. You made your car look even better for very little money. I'm still on the hunt for LGT struts for my OB to drop it down an inch or two.

I love things that don't cost a lot!

I will put an XTI badge on it after I get an STI turbo and top mount. Otherwise I'll leave the stock 2.5XT badges there for now! And thanks again man!

Fucking awesome! I was trying to convince my buddy to get one of these a little while back, but we couldn't find any decent ones. I love it.

though i disapprove of lowered foresters, i like the ingenuity and im sure it handles much better.

Not intended for offroad purposes! I want to get on a road course a few times this summer with it!

Nice, all it needs is the jdm sti grille and a front mount intercooler. A 18g turbo won't hurt either.

I'd love to... But a VF48 and STI top mount is the route I'll be taking until I can afford a 6 speed in it haha.

I currently have an 18g and a sti top mount on my 92x. Go for a fmic, it's worth it, even for the Godspeed eBay kit. I would have gone that route but I bought it this way. Leaves more room for power, and more accessibility to work on the motor. Plus they look mean and give a hint at the power within.

I'd love a black front mount with a non-XT hood so no scoop for more sleeper points.

no i understand why people do it, I just dont agree with the effect.

I see you! Not for everyone, I just can't keep my car stock when an aftermarket exists!

I don't know how big the scoop is on the forester but I just love seeing mine on the saab. I don't know why, but it's reminds me of a shark opening it's mouth ready to kill. No way I'd get rid of it no matter the sleeper bonus points.

It's not too big but people notice it right away when they ride in it, usually something like "Wow that scoop looks big from in here!" If I get an STI top mount I'm getting a BIG scoop because it's one of my boy-hood dreams.

I love the FXT man, seriously debating getting one for my next daily/project. How many Impreza parts have you found to be cross-compatible?
![]() 04/16/2014 at 19:18 |

Strut bars, top hats, struts, springs, anything that goes on the engine, chassis bracing, splitters, bumpers (with a little tweaking), exhaust, down pipes, intakes, seats, some interior trim pieces, brakes, the list goes on.

Damn, I didn't know that much stuff was cross compatible! That's awesome. Time to hit up MAPerformance.com for some ideas. Got any other suggestions for places to buy Subie parts?

I get most of my stuff off forums. I like Rallysportdirect.com too because you can enter in your car and get a list of parts you can use.
